Excellent example of a WW2 Marine distance meter Pat 703, used to determine distances between ships especially the ships sailing in convoy in WW2. It was made by Henry Hughes and Son England.
The device is made from a black metal body with a bakelite handle. There is a glass folding cover for the two scales on the side. The top scale is marked ‘CABLES’ and has a scale from 1 to 10. The bottom scale is marked ‘HEIGHT IN FEET’ and has a scale from 30 to 150.
Comes in well fitted mahogany box .Dimensions: 5 in x 4in x 4in .
