This is an excellent example of vintage brass and wood nutcracker depicting a ships wheel. The wheel turns to close clamp down on nut. The wooden base is made to to catch pieces as they fall. Dimensions: wheel is 3 inches diameter, and the base is 5 1/2 inches diameter.
