SOLD A fine example of a small compass with gimbals made in England in mid 1800s. The compass is encased in a thick brass bowl with a carefully drawn paper dial placed on a nice stone set. The mahogany case is in excellent condition the compass face has a few stains due to the age.
Dimensions: compass card 50mm diameter and brass bowl 30mmW, mahogany case is just 84mmL x 82mmW x 48mmH.
