SOLD This is an excellent example of a floating card compass made in New York by Sawyer & Hobby in the mid 19th century. It is a small version of the nautical compasses used by sailors on a small vessel. This particular piece has a brass case and wonderful paper floating card and a brass top. Dimensions: 52mm diameter and 14mm height.
