SOLD Here is a good example of a complete set of nickel covered brass and iron drawing instruments made in the late 1800's most likely in Germany. This type of instruments was used in maritime navigation by sailors, architects and mechanical engineers. The well fitted velum covered velvet and wood case incorporate a combination of 10 instruments: two compass dividers with additional accessories, a proportional divider, a pen, protractor and two wood rulers. The case still has the original small porcelain ink cups and the small tool adjuster. The velum hinges of the case were lost over ages. Dimensions: 160 mm x 100 mm x 22 mm.
