SOLD This is an excellent pocket sundial made in France in the last quarter of 1800's. The device was made to be used between latitudes 40 and 60 degree - this information is engraved on the hour dial and on the adjustable blade gnomon with a bird looking pointer inspired by the antique Butterfield sundials. The compass face has french cardinal points and a side locking system. The case is made of brass with some minimal wear Just a small oxidation spot is present on the compass face. Dimensions of the dial: 75 mm diameter and 18 mm height.
