SOLD.  This is a wonderful Butterfield Sundial made in France by the well-known sundial maker Michael Butterfield. The device was specifically built to be used between the latitudes of 40 and 60 degrees. The adjustable blade gnomon is nicely engraved and has a bird looking pointer. The front side has four rows engraved with the hour scales - each of them matching different latitudes and the makers name. The back side includes engraved latitudes of the major European cities.This sundial has a minimal flaw - a small crack in the compass glass. Dimensions: 76mm x 63mm x 10mm.

This piece will make a exquisite addition to your collection.
