Featured below is a rare example of genuine sextant used by explorers for navigation on the sea. This is an excellent brass 7 inch radius sextant made by David White Co Milwaukee , Wisconsin N 5783 in 1943 for US Navy. The device has most of the parts in place: a silvered scale divided 0-140, index arm with micrometer drum scale and tangent-screw with clamp, one telescope, 4 sun shades, 3 horizon shades, one index and one horizon mirror, wood handle and a nice mahogany veneer case. The case has some minimal wear and tear due to the age. Case size: 11 inches x 11 inches x 5 1/2 inches.
