A scarce aviation altimeter Barograph made by R Fuess Berlin in 1940’s used by Luftwaffe on planes and airships. The interior of the device incorporates an aneroid movement with two capsules and works up to 6000 m. The adjustable (2 hours, 4 hours and 10 hours ) mechanical clock movement has a nice cylinder platform escapement and a lightweight body and is in working condition. The burgundy Bakelite case has 4 hooks for hanging on the top and four hooks on the bottom to damp the vibration produced by the plane. The barograph is in very good condition with some wear and tear due to the age. Dimensions: 71/2” x 4 “x6”.
Scarce example of early aviation history!
