SOLD This is an excellent example of a pocket floating card compass made by well know British scientific instruments maker Spencer & Co 111 Minories London in mid 1800’s. It is a small version of the nautical compasses used by sailors on a small vessel. This particular piece has a brass case and wonderful paper floating card, Dimensions: 57 mm diameter and 24 mm height. The outside compass case was recently polished and covered with shellac by a fellow collector.
