SOLD Rare example of high-end traveling barometer altimeter compass and thermometer compendium (Livingstone Traveling Set) made by Tycos Short Mason London in mid 1920’s. The pocket aneroid barometer scale goes from 23-31 inches and the altimeter scale ranges from zero to 8000 feet adjusted by a bezel.
The wonderful floating card compass with the Tycos signature present under the North sign can be locked at the top by a button.
The body of the two functional devices is made from gilded brass and is in excellent condition.
The small thermometer has a crack and is not functional. The scale ranges from 20 to 120 Fahrenheit degrees.
The barometer set is coming with an original magazine print add from 1920.
Dimensions : each device is 50 mm diameter and 15 mm thick and the thermometer 60 mm lenght.
The blue leather carrying case (7 inches x 4 inches) has signs a lot of wear and tear. Most likely well used by an traveler, explorer or by an officer in US Army.
