Excellent example of a miniature bimetallic pocket thermometer made in France in the last quarter of 1800’s by the well known scientific instruments maker Jules Richard Paris and signed by one of the local dealers (Burgeois 27 Rue de Pyramides Paris). The thermometer shows the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius degrees and goes from 0 F to 160 F and -20 C to 70 C. The wonderful thermometer has a silver face and a nickel covered brass body. To make the thermometer more accurate the case has locking and unlocking system on the side of the case and a nice brass pin on the bezel.
The condition of this item is excellent with minimal wear and tear. Has a wonderful mechanism inside.
