Rare example small library telescope engraved on the barrel Dollond London. The telescope is made of brass and mahogany wood most likely in the first quarter of 1800’s maybe earlier. The condition of the telescope is very good and has sharp image (42 object lenses). This is a fully functional early telescope in very good condition with smooth draw action, the eye piece system lens is directly inserted in the first draw. The brass tripod can be taken off very easily by a screw. Some wear and tear due to the age, a few cracks in the wooden barrel and some loss of red finish. Dimensions: 28 inches open, 9 1/2 inches closed.
Excellent display item.
