SOLD-Excellent pocket compass made of turned walnut wood. This type of compass was customary made in central Europe, this one in particular made in Bavaria region - estimated between 1700s through mid-1800s. This was meant to be used by travelers and early settlers and introduced in United States by outfitters and early explorers. Each device is unique in his own way due to the printed paper dial and custom hand painted compass rose. The condition of the compass is very good. A small piece of the glass is missing under the zinc alloy bezel. The compass measures 45mm diameter by 20mm height.
