SOLD Featured below is a rare example of genuine pocket sextant or "box sextant" used by explorers for navigation. This piece was made most likely in England in 1930-1940. The sextant comes with a retractable telescopic sight, anodized brass cylindrical body, including several fine adjustments: index arm, magnifying glass, two mirrors, adjustable green and red filters and a silvered vernier scale (0-140) with very fine markings. The original leather case and strap is in excellent condition for the age. The sextant is functional the reading can be taken through the adjustable peephole or mini telescope.
