This is a rare surveyors or artillery pocket altimeter barometer made in Japan. The sensitive altitude barometer dial goes from 79-66 mm/mercury or torr and the altimeter scale from 0 to 1400 meters adjusted by a bezel. The fine calibration is made by a small screw on the back of the device. The body of the altimeter is made of japanned brass with nice patina and is in excellent condition. Dimensions: 84 mm diameter and 34 mm height.
