This simple example of pocket microscope is made of brass tube with two ends, a 20 mm lens (simple loupe magnifier) on one side and a rectangular Stanhope type prism on other side (with stronger power). The tube has a slit to accommodate an insect holder (a pin). The device is most likely made in France the late 1800’s and was used by naturalists or students when working in the field. Dimensions: 50 mm length and 24 mm diameter.
