Scarce example of liquid filled pocket compass with wonderful RGS Pattern (Royal Geographical Society Pattern) aluminum face. The compass is made of a nice combination of brass and oxidized nickel. The signature of Negretti Zambra London present on the case and the patents of well known maker Francis Barker & Son present on the compass dial. The compass condition is excellent for the age, some minimal wear and tear on the oxidized case and there is an air bubble present inside the compass. The compass has a “Bubble Trap” meaning (if an air bubble appears the compass can be flipped slowly upside down and turned back slowly, the bubble trap will keep the air bubble under the compass face). In our case the air bubble is big and the compass face will not move to much if the air bubble is trapped under the dial. Dimensions: 47 mm diameter and 12 mm height. Excellent display and collectors item.
