This is a nice example of surveyors or miners compass made in France. The device is equipped with a side locking system, a silvered dial, a compass needle rested on a red stone and two sighting vanes. The compass case is made of brass with some minimal wear and tear. A small oxidation spot present on the compass face near East cardinal point. Dimensions of the compass 70 mm diameter and 19 mm height. Excellent display item.
