SOLD- Fine example of antique pocket aneroid barometer altimeter and thermometer compendium made by G. Gerlach for Polish Army WW1 era . The barometer glass crystal has etched the Polish coat of arms and a serial number and the device is made of nickel covered brass. The two instruments are functional: the barometer scale goes from 56-79 torr or mm/mercury and the rotating altimeter scale ranges from zero to 2500 meters adjusted by the rotating bezel and calibrating screw behind the case. The thermometer shows the temperature in Centigrade degrees and goes from -5 C to 50 C. The wonderful silvered barometer dial has the markings of well known scientific instrument maker G. Gerlach on the face and a unique barometer hand. The dark brown Morocco leather covered wood case is in excellent condition, the locking latch is a bit loose.
Considering it was a mobile device, the inside burgundy satin and velvet liner has minimal wear. Dimensions of the barometer is 50 mm diameter and 20 mm heigh.
