SOLD Here is an excellent example of a fine set of drawing instruments made in the late 1700s early 1800’s in England. This type of instruments was used in maritime navigation by sailors, architects and mechanical engineers. The well fitted shagreen etui incorporate a combination of nine instruments: two compass dividers, drafting pen, two different crayon and pen holders, bone plotting scale, an ebony parallel ruller and a very nice brass protractor. The wooden case is in very good condition and the instruments have nice patina due to age. The drafting pen is missing the handle and the etui is missing some shagreen on the bottom and side. The set comes with a nice mahogany presentation stand. Dimensions: 6"3/4 L X 3" W X 1"1/4 H
This nice set will make a good addition to your collection of mathematical instruments.
