SOLD This is an excellent example of a scarce floating card compass made in England in the first quarter of 19th century. It is a small version of the nautical compasses used by sailors on a small vessel. This particular piece has a heavy brass case and wonderful paper floating card. The compass has a heavy brass screw in lid. A small repair was professionally done around the compass needle in the past. Dimensions: 72 mm diameter and 20 mm height.
